2024 Magnet Designation ceremony

In Fall 2024, Lurie Children’s proudly announced its sixth Magnet® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® for excellence in nursing services. Lurie Children’s continues to be among the top hospitals in the world, representing less than 1 percent of hospitals nationwide to have achieved Magnet® recognition six times. It is the first hospital in Illinois and the first free-standing pediatric hospital in the country to reach this milestone.

Since earning its first Magnet® recognition in 2001, Lurie Children’s has continuously advanced in its commitment to nursing excellence. The ANCC has progressively enhanced the rigor of the Magnet® standards, making Lurie Children’s consistent recognition a testament to our exceptional environment for professional nursing practice, characterized by strong nursing governance, a commitment to innovation and research, interprofessional collaboration, and engaged and empowered nursing professionals.
